Delicious. I am from NJ where Indian restuarants abound. Also, I have many excellent cooks in my family that can throw down some amazing Indian dishes, particularly northern indian food. Amber is excellent to very good. I have been there for dinner many times and for a large party. The food is excellent. I cannot speak on the buffet as of yet.

Why bother?!. This is the most American version of Indian food I have tried... No. I am sorry the second worst. The first is a place in Harrisburg. I have tried Indian food all over the US for many years and have mostly been amazed at the wonderful flavors many places use. Until I went to the Amber. They are to Indain food what McDonalds is to a steak house. Bland, dry, over cooked, under spiced, under flavored.... I now have to travel to Allentown from the Scranton area to get good Indian food.

High Quality, Excellent Value, Great Vegetarian Menu. If you are in the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton area, I will highly recommend that you check this restaurant out. Being a vegetarian and traveling (i am from Indiana) often forces me to drive a little further than i would normally go for food. this place was definitely worth the 15 mile drive i had to make to get there.

the service was a little slow at first, but i was by myself. that can throw things off a bit. i ordered vegetable pakorah as an appetizer. there was a little too much batter in places, but the veggies were just right. the accompanying sauces were tasty as well.

the vegetarian menu was larger than some i have seen in various Indian restaurants across the country. the unique dishes i saw here were a stuffed gourd dish and 'kajur kari' which was whole cashews in an onion gravy (which i ordered). delicious. there were other dishes that i wanted to try but knowing i could only eat one led me one of the most unique (if not the most simple) i have seen. the spicy-level was just right...i like it extremely spicy, and they hooked that up for me too.

i also ordered some ghobi paratha (mashed cauliflower naan), and that was also good. it was a little soggy in the middle, but i would expect a little of that given we are talking about vegetables.

i also ordered their indian tea (chai) which was also quite good for $2.

over all, the value was great. they have modestly priced entrees, and the quality and flavor of the food was extremely high. you should go to this restaurant if you like Indian food. my experience was good. i hope yours will be too.

Excellent food at excellent prices!. I've been an Indian cuisine aficonado since the seventies, and have enjoyed restaurants across North America, Australia, and in Indian 'centers' like Toronto and London. You never know when you'll find good or so-so food, and there's a certain excitement in trying a place for the first time.

As unlikely a place as Moosic PA seems to have great Indian food, the Amber served terrific food - I always try a saag dish for comparison purposes - and the prices were extremely reasonable. Two curries (rice included,) samosas, naan, 2 soft drinks and a kulfi dessert totalled less tha n $32! I would expect to pay $40 or more at most other Indian restaurants.

I highly recommend the Amber Indian Restaurant!

just ok. This restaurant is not one you would go to for any special occasion. The food and service are just OK, nothing more.

An Excellent Experience. If you live in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area, you NEED to at least try the food at this restaurant. I have gone to this restaurant many times over the past year and I love it every single time. The people that run this restaurant are truly nice and caring people. Very rare can you form a bond with the people in a restaurant. This has been my experience. The food is not to be believed. If you are into spicy things, this is the place for you. The Tandoori Mix Grill is amazing. The different naans are all better than the next. The Kulfie (saffron flavored ice cream) and Indian coffee is a perfect end to a perfect experience. The ambiance is perfect as well. The bathrooms are spotless.
